At this point, we’ve all encountered a corporate lobby with some sort of interactive digital signage mounted to a wall. In some cases its used for wayfinding, some cases its used for marketing purposes. Either way, it now serves as an effective and automated method of serving clientele with content as they enter and exit your corporate building.

There are two major ways to approach delivering content for an interactive touchscreen interface: cloud based content management and locally hosted content management.

More on cloud based content management
Cloud based is the hip way of saying “internet based” in that the content is coming from a central hub and being dispersed to monitors at different locations (these are usually referred to as nodes).

Locally hosted content management
This simply means the screen is connected to a computer and all of the video files, calendar information, and everything else displayed, is stored on that computers actual hard drive. This eliminates the need for an internet connection and reduces retainer cost, but may make the experience less useful to the client.

What can digital signage do for your business?

  • Most importantly, it can often reduce the need for having a person standing by to sign someone in, or greet them, or give them information, saving you money and saving the client time.
  • Welcome visitors, provide wayfinding maps, display meeting locations and communicate key information, such as mission statement and company philosophy to employees and visitors from your corporate lobby and common areas.
  • Keep internal communications updated and intact by informing employees about important notifications, such as upcoming company events, changes in benefits, new personnel announcements, and employee and company achievements in break rooms, cafeterias, and in other common areas.
  • Utilize training videos on safety and company procedures and other important messages from management
  • Show real-time dashboards (sales, call center, and/or manufacturing data)
  • Display emergency and amber alert messages

How to get a interactive touch screen sign for your corporate lobby

First, Get in touch with a digital signage vendor or reseller. (Contact Us)
Second
, determine the types of content you need to display to clients.
Third
, create a timeline for your installation process.
Fourth
, test it. It is essentially done at that point.

Remember, this is a very far-removed bird’s eye view of the process. On the reseller’s side of the project, its very technical and involved. So, there will be many more steps on our end than on yours.
