What can iDisplay Interactive’s digital signage systems do for Corporate Communications?

In the recent decade, there has been a growing trend in the corporate world. The trend is that businesses are doing more to maximize the effectiveness of space and time via smart advertising and smart content delivery mechanisms.

While website development and search engine optimization are obvious solutions for better client communications, another solution is the recently popular digital signage avenue in corporate spaces.

What is Digital Signage?

Digital signage is the general term referring to digital screens, both touchscreens and non-touchscreens that interact with a user to present information or some other type of digital media. If you’ve been to a shopping mall and seen a static backlit image of a map at each entrance that says something along the lines of “You are Here ->” and then displays a grid of stores, then you’ve experienced something similar in a non-digital way. In essence, that could be considered analog signage.

A digital way finder would greet you, ask you what you’re looking for, find it, display a map for you, and organize your needs into a to-do list or personalized map, and perhaps text it to you, or print a small card with that information on it, in exchange for your email address. By being that much  more helpful to the user, the shopping experience is improved in terms of speed and efficiency, and also the marketing device now has a way to send you promotional information relating to the mall. This method would be aimed at increasing the percentage of return visits to the mall.

Reframed for a Corporate Setting

While that was a lovely example of digital signage in a retail setting, that does little to explain a useful application of interactive digital signage in a corporate lobby. Instead of having a directory of retail spaces, those spaces will refer to corporate offices inside the building, or departments. Then, the screen can sign you into the reception area if you’re there for a meeting. It can also play a demo reel of video footage or images relating to your product. It may also play commercials or advertisements that were paid for by third party vendors.

Corporate Communications

  • Welcome visitors, provide way finding maps, display meeting locations and communicate key information, such as mission statement and company philosophy to employees and visitors from your corporate lobby and common areas
  • Keep internal communications updated and intact by informing employees about important notifications, such as upcoming company events, changes in benefits, new personnel announcements, and employee and company achievements in break rooms, cafeterias, and in other common areas.
  • Utilize training videos on safety and company procedures and other important messages from management
  • Show real-time dashboards (sales, call center, and/or manufacturing data)
  • Display emergency and amber alert messages
